Parking / Transportation Options for Race Day

The Guardian Mile is one of the most conveniently located road races in Cleveland. With the start line at the corner of Lorain Ave. and West. 24th Street, runners are presented with many options:

The Guardian Mile start line is conveniently located at the Ohio City W.25th Street Red Line Rapid Transit Stop. Runners are able to hop right off feet from the start line for our race!

By Motor Vehicle

Most participants will be arriving by motor vehicle. There are plenty of parking options for the race outlined below:

The Start: Ohio City has plenty of lots, paid and unpaid, to choose from. Please see the linked map to locate lots. The most convenient lot is a paid lot located directly behind the West Side Market. This lot is the closest to the start of the race and will provide you with great access to Ohio City post-race.

The Finish: There is metered parking on the south side of the finish line for those who prefer to park at the finish. This lot is off Commercial Rd. / Central Viaduct. This lot is accessible via the East 9th Street Extension if coming from I-77 and downtown and Canal Rd. if coming from the West Side.

At 6:30pm motor vehicle traffic will be rerouted around the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge down to the Detroit-Superior Bridge. Other road closures include W. 20th Street at the bridge crossing and Gehring St. at W.25th Street. The bridge will reopen shortly after the completion of the men’s elite mile.
